Create a Designation Comparisons Report

You can create a report that compares the designations from different parties using the Reports Explorer.

To create a Designation Comparisons Report, open the Reports Explorer in a case and follow the steps below:

  1. Select the Designations Comparison item in the explorer.

  2. Click the Run Report button in the explorer ribbon bar.

  3. The Designation Comparisons Report wizard appears.

  4. Ensure the selected options for the report are correct. You must select at least one of the compare options (Unique, Exact, and Overlap).

  5. Note: See the table below for information on all of the report options.

  6. Click Next.

  7. On the Summary page, you can review the options you selected for the report and click the Edit button or the Back button if you need to make any changes.

  8. Click the Preview button.

  9. The report is generated and appears in the Report Work Area.

    You can use the options in the Report Work Area ribbon bar to perform any of the following actions:

    • Navigate between pages in the report

    • Save the report as a different file type

      Note: Some reports may have a CSV save option.

    • Close the report

Report Options

The Designation Comparisons report contains the following customization options:

Include

You can choose to include the following options in the report:

  • Cover Page - If this option is selected, the report will include a cover page

  • Date Footer - If this option is selected, the report will include a date in the footer of the report

Comparison

 

  • Unique - Lists the page and line number references that are unique.

  • Exact - Lists page and line number references that are an exact match.

  • Overlap - Lists designations with page and line number references that overlap but that are not identical references.

Format Options

  • Separate by column - Displays the data in a table that splits page and line numbers into separate columns.

  • Separate by dash - Displays the data in table that combines a page and line number reference into a single column.
